Today in the group someone posted that this diet was too restrictive. And while I agreed, because it is but I also compared the similarity to going into Rehab. Yes, Rehab.
I say this because having a diet that is this restrictive you learn about your inner emotional demons, what drives you to overeat or eat your feelings, fear, loneliness, stress, frustration, boredom, anxiety, habit. To me the hCG diet protocol as prescribed by Dr. Siemons helps you find your inner strength and gives you a new direction to channel those demons and make positive life changes. Of course entire premise is assuming you treat this as a solution and not just a diet. Not incorporating dietary changes for the long term is a recipe for yet another diet failure. Does that mean I will never have ice cream or a pastry or any fat laden, sugar rich treat with processed white flower again? Heck no. I will but it will never be to the extent I have in the past, because those types of foods are what brought me to find this solution to my weight issues. To also help me deal with why I overeat I found EFT is an excellent therapy. EFT is a powerful tool to aid in healing life issues.
To me this is a life change not just another diet. While I’m taking this journey I am also discovering food allergies, tolerance levels for foods and developing new tastes for food. I already have a long term plan for me to maintain, Atkins Low Carb is my long term solution to maintaining the weight I will be shortly. I like low carb I agree with the theory of low carb and I LOVE the food choices I have on low carb.
As of today I have been on hCG Diet for 12 days and I have lost a total of 14 pounds. I’m happy and I frankly I haven’t felt this happy or found a diet this easy to lose with since first discovering Atkins back in 1997 and losing weight.

Thank you so much for writing your experience with the HCG diet. Currently, I am on day 6 (including load days) so, in reality, I have only been starving for 4 days. I am exaggerating a bit.. I felt like death the first two days, but after I saw my weight loss results, I felt oodles better, and the hunger pains weren't so bad. I am feeling terrific. Are you exercising moderately on the side? I have only lost 7 pounds... I am envious of your 12 by this time! :)
Keep up the great work ... my husband lost 45 lbs since Feb on hcg. Just wanted you to know that there is a destination spa in Utah's red rock canyon country that supports hcg dieters with an entire community. www.thehcgspa.com
My hubby stayed 7 days and the education he got there and the support he received from the spa after he left is what made him succeed.
yes, this post was so encouraging... I am on day 4 and I am Struggling with hunger . I did atkins for 2 years , 4 years ago, lost around 100 pounds and have put it all back on. I like the premis of this diet that hcg changes your bodies composition. that encourages me. If I can ask, have you had headaches? and what hair care products are you using? ( i seriously need hairspray!!!) Thank you and keep up the good work!! ;) LA (Leah Allen)
I used hCG in the 1970s for about 6 years since the 11th grade in high school and then years after graduating. It cost $40 per month then. I gave myself the daily shots in my thighs (still have a cluster of scarring and vividly remember the strong urine odor of the shots). I ate the 500 calories a day (the current diet looks the same), could not use any lotions and had to wear rubber gloves for dishwashing and when handling anything fatty. I used hCG steady at first. It took about 4 months to lose 40 pounds. The doctor also gave me weekly B12 shots, daily white crosses (speed), and vitamins with the hCG regimen. I tried to go on "maintenance" several times, but each time I went off the daily shots, I gained weight. I tried to stay off the hCG at different times, but each time I gained back all of what I lost and had to go back on the hCG to loose it again. Finally, I developed lumps in my neck and the hCG doctor told me to go get biopsied. My mother told me to "Get off those damn shots!" I did quit the shots for good and the neck lumps disappeared in a couple of months. Over the years I found what works to control my weight. Lifestyle change - just what no one wants to hear. Eating a healthy diet, cutting out sweets, watching the carbs, and excercising an hour daily. I'm 52 now and in great shape by the grace of God.
Wow, I have been reading thu your posts on here- found you on the yahoo group for hcg. You have really done well on this- I am thinking I have obviously mixed wrong or something to be starved all the way thru the 40 days I just finished- Though I lost 30lbs. Truly I expected with great sacrifice would come great weight loss like a pound a day for instance! Good job! I want to follow your blog and keep up!
thanks for this post, i enjoy your blog! i'm on day 13 of p2.
Are you my twin? I was reading your blog and this write up just expressed exactly how I feel.
I am a hcg veteran (32 lbs in 35 days) and have kept it off for two months now(and lost 6 more) just by sticking to the Atkins, low carb type protocol.
The hcg protocol helped me jump start my weight loss and showed me the goblins that were causing my YoYo weight for so long.
Thanks to the HCG, I have learned so much about myself. I will never put that weight back on because now I know how to keep it off... and no, I will never have to do the HCG protocol again. I am officially reformed.
