Soda On The hCG Diet

I received an e-mail the other day asking me about the SodaStream I have it on the hCG Diet Journey site and what did that have to do with the hCG diet and accused me of advertising things that were not based on the hCG diet. I e-mailed him back and said that SodaStream was not a part of the hCG diet protocol BUT I was not just promoting SodaStream for my health. Or was I?

First most diet sodas contain Aspartame, which the health effects have been known for quite awhile. I personally have given up the daily consumption of soda over 15 years ago, but I do enjoy it from time to time as most people do. I also learned long ago asorbic acid can stall diet efforts.

Although nothing in my book replaces the benefits of a tall cold glass of water I do enjoy a change from time to time and want a cold soda. So how can one enjoy soda, that has a very low sodium content, avoid the sugars, aspartame, and asorbic acids? In other words, have a much healthier soda? I choose to purchase SodaStream and make my own sodas when I want to have one. I not only save money and help the environment but I also give Simon a better tasting SODA! Long story how he even started drinking soda. All I will say is that a child has 2 parents and you don’t know what the other one is saying yes to all the time!

I personally choose the Diet Lemon-Lime sodamix so that I may add fresh strawberries, raspberries, pineapple, cherries or squeeze some orange juice in the soda once made and add some orange slices. I must say Simon LOVES this little treats and enjoys making the soda. With the SodaStream you can also do sparkling water which I also add the fresh fruit too as well. Also with some DaVinci Gourmet Syrup Simon and I can really go to town on flavors when the mood hits me!! I've been using the sugar free syrups DaVinci offers since my low carb days and have my favorites and have tried some of their recipes

Second, I choose to make my own soda due to ADHD/ADDHD. Don’t know if Simon is but he has tendencies. Aspartame and processed sugar does not help kids who are active, over active or have ADHD/ADDHD.

I’m not saying I’m the healthiest eater all the time but I do know processed and refined foods, sugar foods are a bad combo for long term health and well being and can effect mental capacity. When you have too much sugary foods, do you ever feel tired, head foggy and out of sorts? Mental capacity.

If I want to gain weight fast I can load up on soda, cookies, cakes, chips, dips and other snack foods and just feast for a week and gain 10 pounds. When I eat healthy, drink water, avoid fast foods, and cook at home or make better restaurant foods choices, I can maintain my weight or lose weight. Even an occasional ‘bad food’ item doesn’t’ hurt if my overall eating is to the good. I also notice Simon's ADHD/ADDHD tendencies are much less when the diet is very limited in processed and refined foods.

Yes I promote SodaStream because I found it to beneficial not only for the hCG diet protocol but for overall health, the environment and for fun and better taste! So why not share my find? Why not tell others who may want a low calorie to no calorie soda that is diabetic friendly, extremely low sodium and healthier then what you are getting from soda makers now?

The choice is always the readers. Find out about the product or not. Make a decision how it fits into your life or not. I only offer products I use or believe in, things I find to be useful or beneficial, that promotes health, well being or just can plain help. I am not an affiliate with everything I talk about or share and I always try to make what I share useful and based on what I found to help me or know to have helped others.

Read, enjoy, research, decided and share!

For Fun

  1. sodastream is awesome! i had my eye on that for a long time and just couldn't justify the purchase. lol then, just by chance, a family friend had one that they had gotten as a gift and never used! i was in shock! i said "you're kidding!?", they said "do YOU want it? cause we'll never use it." and i said "you betcha!!!" lol. we are now the proud owners of our very own sodastream and a varied selection of mixes. and i totally agree with your conclusions with the healthy eating, add and adhd. you go mom!

  2. Instead of using the SodaStream premixed concentrated flavors, has anyone tried just adding flavored Stevia to the fizzy water you create from the SodaStream machine?
